Social Media Community Coordinator

The Social Media Community Coordinator will work under the guidance of the Digital Marketing Manager in a hands-on capacity to monitor and manage communities on our global web properties, and in creating content for social that is appropriate and drives measurable results. The coordinator will bring state-of-the-art knowledge about current and emerging social-media practices to the role and will be expected to constantly remain abreast of best practices and always learn and evolve to better serve the team and our customers.

The Coordinator will participate in the execution of the department's digital marketing and social plans with a priority focus on digital, content and social media initiatives. The Coordinator will work closely with the rest of the Marketing team to coordinate the Content Strategy and develop assets for use across the organization. In addition, the Coordinator will support specific projects, research and tasks assigned by the Digital Marketing Manager and the Marketing Management team. This role will contribute to maintaining and enhancing the culture of our organization.

The Coordinator reports to the Digital Marketing Manager, with a strong working relationship with the broader marketing team.

Responsibilities

Community Management

  • Act as a frontline ambassador interacting with customers and fans in real time on a range of web platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and others. Participate in and help shape online conversations.
  • Oversees the implementation of the Petcurean content strategy across the digital ecosystem including working closely with the Creative Services Team to ideate and develop assets.
  • Spark conversations on social networking sites that are aligned with both end-user needs and B2B client business requirements.
  • Multi-task and move in and out of varying mindsets to support multiple user communities across a global range of initiatives concurrently
  • Ensure the community is monitored in a timely and ongoing basis to meet expectations in addition to driving engagement within the context of any other specific guidelines and rules of engagement
  • Provide continuous monitoring and ensure on-going optimization of planned tactics and spend

Social-media Content Creation

  • Intelligently, strategically and effectively create Facebook posts, Instagram posts, Tweets, photos and videos that are appropriate to global wide-ranging customers that engage end users and generate business results whilst upholding the Petcurean brand values and tone of voice
  • Conceive and execute content outlines and calendars that span the lifecycle of ongoing social-marketing campaigns
  • Use strategic insights to effectively promote content across relevant platforms
  • Utilize your experience and copy writing skills to provide in-the-moment, results-oriented and engaging content for various social media content

Analyst

  • Utilize analytic skills to create comprehensive and data driven pre-scheduled or ad-hoc reports
  • Contribute to creating actionable insights to inform social strategy and provide recommendations based on findings
  • Perform in-depth content analysis to examine the significance of certain content over others and communicate how this performance impacts the overall social and content strategy
  • Utilize analytic skills to report on media tactics and provide recommendations to further optimize campaigns
  • Manage analytic platforms to ensure consistent tracking and accurate measurement of all relevant metrics across social channels

Social-media Strategic Support

  • Review best practices, both generally and in an industry-specific sense
  • Engage in competitive audits to understand what our competitors are doing in the social space and what can be leveraged or improved upon
  • Monitor and analyze social media trends across verticals for their relevance to and impact upon our B2B clients, their brands, their strategies and their consumers
  • Develop and expand upon knowledge of the goals, motivations and activities in the social space of our end users and B2B clients
  • Work in partnership with other Marketing Coordinators to support the execution of the global social media strategy across all channels

Partner Management

  • Work with external marketing resources including writers, designers, and web teams to manage and produce marketing deliverables
  • Ensure correct positioning, messaging and brand standards are upheld - monitoring content and managing potential PR issues

Research and Development

  • Assists with conducting research for projects as required
  • Undertake market research, analyze trends, determine needs and expectations of target markets, potential clients, projects and industry opportunities and recommend strategies

Other Duties

  • Collaboratively develops strategies that identify how to best reach our target customer in a cost efficient and effective way.
  • Participation in conferences, trade shows and other such promotional activities; including evaluating, planning and implementing promotional activities as deemed necessary.
  • Supports the Digital Marketing Manager in the coordination and distribution of Petcurean's internal newsletter.
  • Conducts additional project coordination and support duties as required
  • As requested within the same scope and level.

Qualifications:

  • A University Degree in Marketing, Business, or Communications or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • 2+ years demonstrated experience with community management, analytics and reporting, social content development and providing some support on social-specific strategic recommendations;
  • Demonstrated strong knowledge across a range of social-media platforms and management tools;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of social-media best practices and a portfolio of social-media writing and case studies of successful social-media projects;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of social-media analytics and related planning;
  • Demonstrated understanding of, and experience working within the context of customer and social media regulations/guidelines/requirements is a strong asset;
  • Effective communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills and abilities to write and edit within brand standards;
  • Highly effective prioritization, multi-tasking and time management skills;
  • Well-developed research skills; able to gather, analyze and evaluate a variety of data;
  • Proven track record in creating and executing successful social marketing, digital marketing, and direct marketing programs;
  • Highly proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook;
  • Knowledge and proven skills in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop);
  • Experience working with website CMS administration (Wordpress or similar) and basic html coding a plus;
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a dynamic and growing team;
  • Extremely organized with the ability to think on their feet and work under pressure and a proactive approach; always seeking new and innovative strategies and ideas with a "can do" attitude;
  • Motivated self-starter, able and willing to contribute thoughts and ideas with a strong attention to detail.

 

Hours of Work

This is a full-time position with regular office hours from Monday to Friday.  However, the nature of this position is such that some additional time with notice may be required and there is a possibility of work on weekends or during the evenings. Some limited travel may be required
