PR & Community Relations Coordinator

 

The PR & Community Relations Coordinator is a key member of the Public Relations & Community Relations team and is responsible for driving awareness, trial and building enthusiasm for Petcurean and its family of products via PR initiatives, social influencers, Team Petcurean, community partner initiatives and in-market influencer events that align with the brand strategy and marketing objectives. Working under the strategic direction of the PR & Community Relations Manager, the PR & Community Relations Coordinator will manage the consumer event programs that align with the Petcurean brand strategy and marketing objectives. This will include but is not limited to planning, implementing, attending and evaluating events and event programs.

This position reports to PR & Community Relations Manager, and has a strong working relationship with the broader marketing team as well as external PR firms.

Responsibilities

Public Relations

Working closely with the PR firms (Canada & US), the PR & Community Relations Coordinator will assist in generate brand awareness through the right mix of media, advertising and product placement:

  • Manage the Influencer Program including evaluating & making recommendations for new influencer opportunities
  • Manage the fulfilment of the influencer charity donations
  • Order Petcurean swag items for media, bloggers and influencers
  • Provide new Petcurean product samples to influencers
  • Coordinate the order and delivery of new product samples to media outlets and publications
  • Assist PR agency partner(s) through coordinating content, training decks and photo assets

 

PR Analytics

  • Evaluate, analyze, and track the impressions and engagement through Earned Media, Social Media Influencers, Blogger Advocates, etc.
  • Monitor engagement on Social Media Influencer posts and liaise with comments for Petcurean product opportunities
  • On a regular basis, monitor Influencer coupon redemption statistics

 

Team Petcurean Administration

  • Coordinating Petcurean's sponsored group of world champion canine athletes (Team Petcurean)
  • Providing editorial content for their social channels.
  • Fulfilling Petcurean food orders on a quarterly basis.
  • Update contracts, track competition schedules and impression numbers, and provide prizes swag, trial bags, coupons, apparel, etc.
  • Look for and evaluate new Team Petcurean member opportunities, as needed

 

Community Relations

You will be responsible for planning, implementing, managing and evaluating Petcurean's presence at marketing events which includes B2B and B2C events. The role also includes evaluation, management and implementation of strategic programs that support Petcurean's goals in the community. This will include but is not limited to:

  • Responsiblefor overall event production and ensuring booths, employees and participants are in place and set up for a successful execution of the event. Provides on-site event management when attending events
  • Liaising with Sales and Marketing to confirm event participation, book the event, and coordinate all aspects of the event logistics via third-party partners
  • Coordinating and shipping display booth and supporting materials
  • Evaluating opportunities and liaising with community partners such as rescue groups/shelters
  • Proactively and reactively seek new, innovative trade + consumer relations opportunities

  Preparation and Logistics Coordination

  • Pro-actively coordinate and arrange supplies for ongoing projects and tasks
  • Coordinate the order and pick up of product trial bags for events
  • Tracking and fulfillment of materials such as Petcurean adoption kits, coupons, swag, etc. to support community partner initiatives
  • Works with internal and external stakeholders to ensure understanding of expectations, deliverables, dependencies, risks and progress of all events ensuring that key stakeholders are informed

 Success Analytics

  • Conduct, track, and provide event & community partner initiative metrics to pro-actively recommend improvements
  • On a regular basis, monitor coupon redemption statistics from events & community partner initiatives

Qualifications

  • University degree in Marketing or Communications preferred or equivalent demonstrated skills and abilities.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in Marketing or Communications preferably within a consumer-packaged goods environment
  • Knowledge and experience working with social media, particularly Facebook and Instagram experience working with social media influencers is a plus
  • Working knowledge of marketing communications planning and execution
  • Strong understanding and experience in event logistics, project management including budgeting and program analysis; plus shipping procedures
  • Excellent communication skills including oral and written communication
  • Exceptionally organized multi-tasker, coupled with a natural ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a dynamic and growing team
  • Proven analytic, problem solving and decision-making mindset
  • Proactive approach; always seeking new and innovative strategies and ideas with a "can do" attitude
  • Motivated self-starter, able and willing to contribute thoughts and ideas

Hours of Work

This is a full-time position with regular office hours from Monday to Friday.  However, the nature of this position is such that some additional time with notice may be required and there is a possibility of work on weekends or during the evenings. Some travel may be required.
